HITH supports children to receive acute hospital-level care in their own home. There is a broad range of clinical experience provided, and HITH acts as a virtual inpatient ward admitting patients from specialties and direct from ED or outpatient. Patients may need IV antibiotics, wound care, post-operative surveillance, cardiac or respiratory assessments, eczema care, rehydration, diabetes education, or multidisciplinary feeding support - a wide range of conditions will be seen and managed in these roles.

The Fellow roles require seniority, clinical maturity, and a high level of management skills.  The fellows work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health team members.  The position provides the opportunity to gain further understanding of patient care in the home, while interacting with most primary medical/surgical teams.
